African Equatorial Safaris

Gabon is the guardian of equatorial Africa’s wildest lands. Few have ventured to experience its pristine tropical rainforest, exceptional biodiversity and unspoilt white sand beaches, leaving the country’s unparalleled natural wealth intact. African Equatorial Safaris holds the exclusive rights to deliver a new model for conservation-led ecotourism in Gabon. By creating sustainable income streams to fund the future of the world’s most precious tropical forest ecosystems, we can make a meaningful contribution to protecting globally significant biodiversity and advancing the fight against climate change.

African Equatorial Safaris will unveil Gabon’s wilderness areas through the establishment of a world-class ecotourism circuit with minimal environmental impact. We have entered into an agreement with the Agence Nationale des Parcs Nationaux (ANPN) to build a network of safari lodges across the National Parks system, commencing in Loango National Park, one of the most biodiverse areas of the Congo Basin. High-end lodgings on the coastline, alongside estuaries and in savannah and forest will enable guests to discover the country’s astonishing range of ecosystems in comfort and style.

Our guests will have access to discreet, state of the art technology and draw on decades of scientific research and development to add immersive new dimensions to viewing iconic wildlife, including one of Africa’s most diverse primate populations and its largest population of forest elephants. We will not only contextualise and root the observation experience in deep learning and conservation best practice but also use the data collected on each trip to build an evolving database of animal and plant ecology, distribution and seasonal changes to inform ongoing conservation efforts and further enhance future guests’ experiences. The first lodge is due to open in 2021.
